Using a Template

OK, here's a Google Doc  utilizing an existing template. It was a recipe template but with changes made for the specifics along with the addition of an image. I am so accustomed to generating my own Word documents, it was difficult to follow a prescribed format. However, as a quick way to get going on a project I can see how templates make efforts easier. Students new to producing documents would benefit from having the designing decisions done, especially the students who hesitate when making choices.

Learning Curves and Students

Dealing with Google products and this blog with docs has taught me a valuable lesson about student frustration, learning curves, and how different people learn in different ways. Even if nothing else happens here, this course will be extremely helpful in alerting me to the frustrations my students may be experiencing. I have a renewed respect for the ones who seem to be floundering in my research classes initially. Here is my resume as a Google Doc (I think). It was previously built as a Word document and transferred to the Google Docs system. I'll go to the templates and see what I can do there as an exercise in uploading something both ways.

Making connections

Yeehaa!!  This blog explores the connections between gourds and technology...perhaps with some papercutting. How do these areas of interest connect?  How do they intersect?  I'll find out!
